Evaluating iBATIS, Hibernate, and JPA

For those new to ORM, choosing an ORM solution can be quite a daunting task! To many, the mention of ORM brings back bitter memories of working with EJB 1.X or 2.X. The many problems associated with the first and second generations of EJB pushed developers to look elsewhere for ORM solutions.

Today, Java developers are far from being bereft of options when it comes to ORM solutions. Three of the more popular options include iBATIS, Hibernate, and JPA. Java World has published an excellent article articulating each of these frameworks and discussing the pros and cons of each one.
